STAGE + Screen
Below are images from some of the shows I designed the costumes for. Some are almost entirely handmade, some with a tiny budget, all were a blast with something new to learn along the way.
SAD
Costume Designer for a short film, inspired by the life of Robin Williams, directed by Kenneth McGreggor.
THE WIZARD OF OZ
In May of 2015 a community theater troupe decided to recreate the classic tale The Wizard of Oz in a large garden estate in Philadephia. I was commissioned to make the costumes! With a budget of a $400 and a small team of helpers, I created over 20 costumes and looks for the performance!
THE BROADWAY THEATER OF PITMAN
For over a year I worked as the costume designer for all the shows produced in South Jersey's Broadway Theater of Pitman. Unfortunately, I did not document my work well during this time and have limited images of the costumes and shows. The shows I designed were: 42nd St., Pitman's Holiday Show, CATS, The Foreigner, Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up, South Pacific, & A Chorus Line.
If you'd like to see more, there is some video footage from CATS, The Foreigner, South Pacific and Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up on the theater's website. Click here, and scroll down to the section labeled 2014 Mainstage Season.
ROLLING BABY BLANKET OF THE BLUE
Rolling Baby Blanket of the Blue is the title of a song by North Carolina based duo The Moon and You. Together, we created this quirky music video. I designed and co-built the sets, designed and handmade the costumes, and even starred in the video as the mermaid (which was a dream come true for me!) The video was nominated for Best Scenic Design and won for Best Costume Design at the Music Video Asheville Awards in 2014. Here is a link to view the video, which you can also see on the Awards and Accolades page of this website!
MASCOTS
Full body and large headed, handmade, original mascot costumes Pictured below are Grumpy Cat, "Party Owl," The Kool Aid Man and Reindeer Heads.
They are big, furry, silly, cute.... In fact, the bigger, furrier, sillier and cuter, the better.
THE
LEMURIAN SOLUTION
YOUR INTERACTIVE EVOLUTION
Created for the Philly Fringe Festival in 2012, and inspired by the legends of the Lemurians (an ancient lost race who some believe have evolved into 5th dimensional space travelers now inhabiting a crystal city inside of Mt. Shasta in Northern California), The Lemurian Solution was an interactive puppet and live action show that I co-wrote, co-designed, and acted in. With an unbelievably devoted cast and crew, we transformed Philadelphia's Magic Gardens into the Crystal City itself, and took visitors on a National Park tour designed for their own evolution and self betterment!
